Default Questions about a Taurus PT1911

I have a PT1911 and love everything about the weapon except one trivial thing. I was wondering can you get a different Recoil Spring Plug for it. Disassembling it is painful with that hollow edge. I use to have a Colt Goverment model and its plug was solid knurled. Also what are the options for diferent coatings or platings for the slide, something for protection and cosmetics. I always liked the two tone look.

Since no one else has fielded this question yet-- I'll make it my first post.
Yes-- It's called a recoil spring plug.
