FYI Dan, I polished the feedramp after the first trip to Armscor didn't cure the problem.

Thanks for the info CA357.
The supplied paperwork has that they did it, too.
I have not checked the chamber to see if casing support is there, but that will be done before going to the next range session.

Update April 23, 2011.
Problems arose. Slide lock (slide release) prematurely locked slide back.
Close observation is that there is a MIM flashing where the plunger normally rests when firing. Plan to fix by first using a file to remove the flashing. If that is unsuccessful, then I will replace the slide lock.
(And the gun still bites the web of the hand.)

Thanks for the update. I forgot, it did that for me a few times too. It only happened a few times, so I forget about it.

I tried the RIA slide lock in a Springer and it would not lock slide up. Comparing the RIA to a Springer slide lock, the engagement angles of the plunger tubes are not the same. replaced the RIA with another and things are working a lot better. I'll know at next range session.

Problem?
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Have you tried another brand of magizines?
I'm no expert, but 1911's are pretty simple. They were designed for war. Hence wide tolarences. I've had mine for about 7 months, and the only mags I use are WIlson's.(the one non-Wilson is the Act(great) that came with it. If there is tht much wrong, you may have gotten a bad one......
good luck
Here she is !!!

This specific 1911a1 has been tried with numerous mags. We are in the process of taking a problematic RIA I purchased from another member and finding/fixing any and all problems that arise. I am looking to get a string of at least 500 rounds without a problem that is not ammo related.
I'm doing this because I think I am proficient with the 1911a1 platform.
