Pocket holsters for compact 1911s?
 

So I'm going to try a pocket holster again, this time for my compact 1911 like, in body, Firestar M43. I found this DeSantis made for Kimber Ultra Carry, Eclipse Ultra II, CDP 3", my gun has a 3.4"barrel.

Just curious if you all think it would be a good fit or if you have any better or other recommendations...?

This is a large gun and not produced anymore, so no chance in getting anything specifically made for it. And don't waste time suggesting I carry anywhere else, I'm pocket only ever.

The Firestar is 6.5 overall length and 30oz for reference.

There's a Remora made for up to 3.25" barrels, but not cut to fit 1911 bodies. So not sure if trigger guard stitching would be in prophet place. Hmmmm

Maybe get a 1911 holster made got 4.25 inch barrel and trim it back? I wear a 5" holster for my 3.5" 1911. Keeps from buying another one when I get a government size. Worked nicely last time I was home as I packed a full size. Desantis makes a nice leather one.

Why don't you just carry it in the trunk of your car?

I'm sure you just use the Star M43 for plinkin' and not for PD.

What would make you sure of that, it is my EDC for winter/fall. Do you happen to know which series that Remora is? Looks perfect!

I wouldn't get the SS if you really plan to pocket carry. (You must have really big pockets!)

Call Jacqui at 239-207-0602 and tell her what you have and that you want to pocket carry. If she has a better fitment for the Star she will tell you. (Tell her canebrake said hi and ask for the discount. wink wink)
