Default Opinions on 1911 9mm

Okay I want a 9mm in 1911 frame. I have EMP, STI Shadow, Colt Defender, and Kimber CDP as my liking and would like opinions on guns please. .45 cal to much for my wrists and .9 mm cheaper to shoot. Want compact size cause gonna carry also.

Of those I would get the STI, then Colt them EMP. Forget the Kimber.

hands down colt defender. the 45acp version doesnt kick as much as its bigger brothers. kinda counter intuitive. i would suggest renting before buying if you have never chot a small frame semi auto like these.

Can I ask why u say forget Kimber? Like to hear opinions. Bad experience? I had the Colt Defender in .45 cal just couldn't handle .45. Is it true that the STI does not lock slide back after last round?

Kimbers are ok...but kimber as a company is a joke. One year warranty and terrible cs

I'd probably go with the EMP, as it's slightly smaller than the others.

Default 9mm 1911

EMP all the way.

Built around the smaller (shorter) cartridge.

I have been exceptionally pleased with mine.

9mm 1911s seem like a fairly decent idea for those who want to practice more. The 1911 frame is obviously a good one.......the only thing is, if you reload .45 its way cheaper then factory 9mm, so for me, it doesn't make sense to have a 1911 in 9.

Thanks for all opinions! I ended up going with an STI Escort after comparing side by side to EMP. Still want EMP but can only buy one at a time. Also my dad and wife have 9mm so can reload more of just one caliber.
