Thanks guys, I am not totally opposed to the plastic - just afraid it would leave lots of scuff marks on the finish. If there are ones with a soft lining on the inside to prevent this, then I'm all ears for that. I probably will end up wearing a belt I suppose, so I guess it's time for me to get used to the idea.

A good strong belt will make things a lot more comfortable for you. It will also help keep the firearm where you want it.

I was in a hurry when I posted above. I was trying to update the Holsters.html page and enjoy dinner with mama.

Your question regarding a holster that may double as OWB and IWB - Take a look at this from The Mako Group:
http://www.themakogroup.com/product_p/quadxxc.htm

I too am an "elastic waist" pants/shorts person but realized a belt will be necessary for almost any carry except a small pocket carry in Cargo pants or the like.

As you go through the various offerings you will soon be able to narrow your search to paddle, clip, OWB, IWB, leather, Kydex or any with a lining to avoid scuffing your gun. Just keep track of what is and is not important and each brands offerings.

Safariland are felt lined. No scratches. I have 3, all have seen daily use for a period of several years. One is 10 years old. Nary a scratch. Not from the holster at least.
