CS is supposed to be the benchmark or imprimatur of any

good custom gun shop.

I guess as long as Kimber's QC and CS is so spotty,

it's customer base will be, also.

Kel-Tec, as yet has had nothing to offer me of which I

specifically have interest, but Hi-Point, of whom I've

to now had a low opinion has a "prifle", the 995, and

the major reason I'm giving the gun consideration is

the fact that Hi-Point's CS is second to none...

I had a first run of their 9mm 1911 ever made. New in box never fired. After having it 5 years I took it to sell it. I found that the bbl was pitted so bad that it is completly junk. 5 call to kimber revealed that it was "sucks to be you, we will fix it at full shop rates if you want".
I ended up sending it to Freedom Gunworks and had it turned into a IDPA esp gun.

I would suggest sending it to a good modern 1911 smith to see what he can do and send kimber your dissapointment and last business email.

I went with a friend back in 1999 to a lgs and he bought the Kimber custom that he had been wanting forever. He payed 1200.00 for it and out the door we went.we went shooting the next few days and that damn gun jammed about every third or fourth round. I remember how pissed off he was, just dropped 1200.00 for a gun that couldnt go through a whole mag with jamming. He kept it for a few months and after he put about 800 rounds through it with not much improvement,he got rid of it
