Now I understand...
I got a new toy today. A used SA Ultra Compact loaded. I've been wanting a 1911 and this is just what I was looking for. Stainless, Hogue grips, Novak night sights, and 3 mags. Has some wear marks and scratches and was kinda dirty when i got it, but boy, does she shoot sweet.
Took it to the range and put about 100 rds of Winchester white box FMJs thru it and it felt as sweet as any pistol I've ever shot. Recoil was very light,(much less than i expected) and the first 6 rds were 2" at 15 '. It really does aim easier than my glocks and has a very light trigger pull.
I also shot 1 mag of Hornady +P hollow points and had no problem with the little bit of extra kick. No FTFs or stray shots. Just a pleasure to shoot.
I think my Glocks are gonna get jealous.
Here she is, all cleaned up.
