Norincos are not flashy and polished, they are basic 1911s built with very good steel. I'd compare them to a Springer GI model in terms of features. They have not been imported since the early 90s due to the Clinton ban so most of them circulating are 15 or so years old.

At that price, maybe, but you can get a new Springer GI for a few $$$ more. They have a niche following and many custom 1911s are built on Norincos. If all you want is a cheap basic shooter, you'd probably be better off with a Rock Island Tactical...

I have a Norinco on the Comander Frame (as tricked out as you can get this old gun)(sights trigger frame tighten action job ejection port lowered grips and dura-coated) kept the chrome lined barrel (it will shoot a brick if you can get it in the chamber) I have carried it for 15 or so years and would love to get my hands on another one. (I have a full size one from Wilson that I don't like near as much)

If you really want a Norinco it may be worth the $$$ to you. But if your budget is the reason for looking at it, check out the NEW guns such as a ROCK ISLAND ARMORY.

Alot of guys use the Norinco 1911 as a basis for their builds/upgrades. The steel used in manufacturing them is purported to be much harder than U.S. steel. If you can ignore the "MADE IN CHINA" roll marks, they are great pistols.

A Norinco was my first 1911 as well as my first .45ACP. Great gun. Traded it in a trade I just couldn't pass up, but have always wanted it back to make a project gun out of. They are great base guns for projects. I'd buy it if I was you, but unless it's NIB and unfired, I'd offer a little less.
