as a range toy lasers are fun. as a seldefense tool i think they are on the order of carrying your gun with a empty mag. wasting time trying to find the dot i think will get ya killed in a true sd situation.

just my opinion

My Trijicon tritium night sights don't have a battery that will die just before you do!

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Tru-Glow tritium on mine, best of both worlds.

I have both and I think people that dont have laser sights dont understand........ The bullet goes where the dot is........ Faster target acquisition. I can put shoot after shot after shot in the same whole with a laser without ever having to look down the sights. Now I would never suggest lasers over practicing basic skills and learning to shoot but an advantage is an advantage.

I bet that a good shooter without a laser sight is a better shooter with one.

I am a firm believer in night sights, they are worth their weight in gold whenever you work alot of night shifts. They are all that i will use on my pistols.

I used the laser grips on my pistol to practice 'point & shoot' accuracy, dry firing at home & it's a lot cheaper than .45ACP at the range. I got a way to go yet, but once that's mastered, won't need the laser or the sights.

I have both as well. However, the laser grips are tuned to be at a certain distance. I am seriously considering aiming it straight and getting used to knowing that my HIT point will be a little up and to the left...no matter the distance. Of course I always as a habit pull up and use the sights and my sense of aim anyway. I was taught that you should look at the sights with "both eyes" because closing one will obviously take an eye of the danger!

What do you guys think about that?

If you have the time and calmness to turn on a laser when a predator confronts you, and regain your composure when that niftly little gadget possibly doesn't work exactly as expected while your adrenaline is rushing through your body like Niagra Falls after the snow melt, then you are probably not in a real gunfight. I want to concentrate on the issue at hand not where or if the red dot is in the proper place.

The difference between 1.45 seconds and 1.5 seconds is a casket. Luckily I have yet to experience the gunfight personally but I'll take my lead from the guys who have, not the technical salesman who goes home to a warm house while I end up on a cold slab. Yeah and I know that SWAT has them on their MP5's but they pick their fights. When the fight comes to me, I doubt I will be the one picking the time, place, or having any upfront notice.
