All the Rock Islands I have had came with ACT mags - and I never used them. While it's new, it doesn't hurt to put in a tad heavier recoil spring as well. I usually run my new guns with a 17.5 variable Wolff...

That's pretty good. I really like the looks of that pistol as well.

Rocks are a fine gun and represent their price point proudly.

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

this just my thought my very first 1911 was a used rock i got for 349.00, from cabellas. IT now has over 5k through the pipe, the only thing i did to it was change out the recoil spring with a wolf,

The second one is a 4in that i got from a lady at the gun range(she wanted a glock) it has almost 4.2k in it this one had to change the firing pin
spring.

the new one was right out the box and outshot me, the new one cost the most
at 540/00 otd. as far as C.S and warranty as far as i know(never had to use it)
is very very good. A lot people say that you get what you pay for, I SAY SIR YOU ARE CORRECT except for breaking the new one in the 5-4in are i my
edc rotation and i trust my life to them.

of course they are no baers, kimber, colt e.t.c but untill i get me a colt these will do nicely. In mine the eat anything, all mags drop free and everything functions well, Both older ones are starting to show holster wear but that is ok with me. Being a po blk child my rocks run like a brand new JAG.
imho rocks are a great pistol so dont count us rock lovers out ,

Also for some serious info more than i know go to the www.1911forum-or 1911.org and read the posts on the rocks(THEN impress your friends and BE THE FIRST ON YOUR BLOCK TO OWN A ROCK ISLAND 1911)
