Congrats on the 1911 Jeff! I've been wanting one. Dunno which brand yet. I'll figure it out when I'm actually in the market.

Anyway congrats again.

By the way, I thought your wife didn't want you to get another gun right now? Someone's pretty persuasive huh? You sly dog you.

lmao actually when i picked her up and she saw it she flipped out. but i gave her 1100$ towards a car and she only owes another 100 so yea... she did smack me with my gun when i got home lol my jaw still hurts. and to be honest if i would have had the extra 400$ i would have gotten the remington r1 enhanced so when your in the market seriously consider the remington in your choices.

Hahah. Well. I hope it all works out for you. I have a sneaking suspicion everything will be ok (if it isn't already) when she shoots it.

I'm gonna consider all the options available when I'm looking. My wife mentioned Colt a couple weeks ago... Can't really disagree with that.

colt has been having some major issues lately. id think twice about them. i have heard of some small issues like more FTF and FTE's with them as well as just a lower quality than they should have. i took all that with a grain of salt but it does make me wonder. anyway im sure it will be fine once i get it broken in and she gets a chance to shoot it.

i happen to have the R1 Enhanced and absolutely love it! i highly recommend it for someone looking for a good quality 1911 that shoots great right out the box.

One trip to the range will not tell you if you can trust it. It may take a few rounds to break it in. I suggest at least 200 to 300. You also want it well lubricated, but not to the point of dripping oil down your pants leg.

I said it may take a few rounds. My Sig worked right out of the box and never missed a beat. I have not been that lucky with some other 1911s, but they shaped up and worked great after a couple hundred rounds. Then there was the Kimber.
