Beware...interaction with a 1911 followed by and oil rubdown and vigorous brushing...followed by incubating in a gun safe tends to make them multiply!:D

new grips i can relate to. personal touch that makes it more suited to the tastes of the owner. personalization. nothing wrong with that. new holster, that is something that would be a good idea too. but it may not be the last one you buy.

now the FLGR, if she works as she should in factory configuration, then leave her be. lot of debate on the FLGR and IMO, in the past i didn't see any improvements that justified using one or buying it in the first place. on some pistols and custom builds they may have a place and reason for justifying their use, but IMO on most stock 1911's, i just can't see any advantage. now this strictly my point of view and opinion and not to be taken as gospel on the subject of FLGR's. just something to consider.

thanks Axxe ill take that into consideration. the holster i have lined up with a leather worker around here. need a mag pouch and grips im stuck beyond a more exotic hard wood type or a more functional approach with some pachmyr grips.

oh my gosh Jeff! google custom 1911 grips! millions of them out there. nothing wrong with even having more than one set for your 1911 to change up the looks.

Sure you'll love it. Got mine for X-mas, shot 420 rnds thru it and no problems with the gun, had to adjust my grip/trigger finger placement and grouping came in nicely. Also I wouldn't get the FLGR just for the simple reason that you can field strip with out tools if need be. I'm with you on the grips and mines the base model so I my go with night sites but this thing shoots so naturally that I don't think I need them. BTW your from my hometown, how much snow you guys got now.
