Default New to me springfield GI 1911 A1

It's picked this up today. A 2004 springfield 1911 A1. Gonna hit the range tomorrow and shoot it. It has Wilson combat sights and a lighter spring in to the trigger is really crisp and light. The gun has some wear but for $638.38 tax and all out the door I am pleased. Just needed a good cleaning and next week I will put the new Damascus grips on it and see how it looks. Hope to hit the range tomorrow. Just wondering if I got a decent deal and if there are anythings I should look out for or upgrade on this gun. It's gonna be a range shooter and a carry gun in the winter on dry days. Thanks guys.

Well we hit the range today and I like the new gun. It shoots great no problems at all shot great and feels awesome the wife shot it and likes it too. Now just to add the Damascus grips next week and it's all good to go then. I like the Wilson combat sights on it they are really good. The weight of the gun really helps with recoil compared to my Taurus PT1911 and my old kimber pro carry II. I think I got a great deal now after hitting the range. Next time I'll get some pics of the targets.

Very nice pistol.
I think I would like those sights too.

If your wife likes it, well that's just a bonus!

1911's have a tendency to do that to ya!

In my experience, everyone talks smack about how great their handgun is.........until the squeeze one off from my 1911. Then they dont brag so much, until they get one of their own

Well I took it shooting and am nothing but happy with this springer. I also did a trigger job on my Taurus PT 1911 and took the slack out and removed all the casting marks and polished the internals now it's super crisp. I've herd a lot of bad think on the Taurus but I'm enjoying it too. But the springer is great hope to get my Damascus grips tomorrow I can't wait.

its nice someone didnt have it novak cut when they swapped out the rear sight. ive never been a fan of ruining a good 1911 with that sight cut.

those SA 1911A1 are just superb shooters. congrats!!

very nice... i would say that you got a good deal.. my buddy has a springer GI and my biggest complaint is the sights and no real big on the trigger either. i told him he needs to do what yours is. i really hate the sights. i havent been able to find replacement sights for his but i will be checking wilson again. 1911 are very easy to love.
