DefaultNew Kimber Itch

I only put 150 rounds through my CDP II and I'm already looking at other Kimbers. It seems that if I get a CCP, I'll need a compact 1911. Yea, that's it.

My dealer has a **** load of Kimbers and the prices are competitive. I'm really drawn to the Ultra Covert II. Love those grips.

So I've got a little bit of money that I've been saving. With the economy sucking so bad, it feels right to either put it into gold or guns? Or, both?

Someone talk me down. I really should just invest in ammo, right? Plus, I got a S&W 686+ on layaway still.

I can see where this is going.

What do you think of my choice of Kimbers? Is there a particular model that I should be looking for/at?

Carry guns are highly subjective choices... as they should be. I agree on the Kimbers... I have a Pro CDP, and Pro Carry SLE.... both are pre series II guns, and both have performed flawlessly for right at 12 years.

I always flirt with buying a Kimber, but about the time I get my gun fund built up enough, I see a thread or hear a horror story about someone else's Kimber problems and it's just enough to push me in another direction.

I'm aware of that. The two I notice that most frequently occur revolve around Springfield Loadeds and assorted Kimbers.

I have carried my Kimber Pro Carry II for the last 10+ years! Put a mag well and a set of Wilson combat springs on her! NEVER had a single miss fire/malfunction!!! Buy the Kimber! Even the gunsmithes that I know says it's the finest production 1911 you can buy!
