New Kimber Custom II Target

I was going to a friends On Sunday for some St. Pats Corned Beef and thought I'd stop by a Sporting Goods Shop to pick up some ammo on the way.

There in the counter was a beautiful new Kimber Custom II Target. Well it didn't take long to close the deal and I now own my first 1911!

I can't wait to get the amendment back from the County so I can take it out shooting, but man I'm stoked! I've been looking for a Kimber or a Ruger for almost a year now.

Once I had a chance at a good price on this one I jumped, she's a beaut!

Ha! Yeah, you're right. When I pick it up I'll try to get a few on here.

This is always the hardest part, you finally find a gun you've been looking for and you have to wait until it gets put on your license ( 2-6 weeks depending on how many they're processing) before you can actually take possession of it and take it out shooting.

I guess the good part is, it will give me time to research mags and start to find ammo. Can anyone tell me about the Wilson Combat Mag? It seems to get the best reviews.

Will any full size mag work in any 1911?

Ewwww sorry to hear that brother. We don't have that kinda thing here in Fla. I have heard some great things about Wilson combat mags but you might want to hear what Cane has to say on this subject. If I was going to buy Wilson combat mags though I would go to gregcotellc.com .

Can the Wilson mags be had cheaper there then straight from Wilson?

Oh wow, after looking they are slightly cheaper there, cool thanks. @ $35 they are $10 more then the ones Cane suggested, to be clear I'm looking @ 7 round mags

Might check both sights last I bought mags (which were mec-gar for my 226)he was cheaper than Mec-gar.Possibly because he bought a whole bunch and got a huge price break versus someone who is looking to buy just a few.On top of that he was great to deal with he went way outta his way to make sure my order didn't get all screwd up.

Just checked both sights and gregcotellc.com was definitely less expensive.

That would drive me nuts! My incredibly childish need for immediate gratification keeps me from buying online unless I absolutely have to, but waiting on something that was physically on the store shelf would be hell!

Congrats, very nice gun. I am waiting on a Kimber Eclipse Custom II. Here in the People's Republic of NJ you can only buy one hand gun a month (OGAM), so once you buy one you have to wait 31 days to even put paperwork in for "Instant" NICS background check - Instant as defined by the state police is now about 5 to 8 days. Got to love government --- NOT!
