I just got my Girsan MC1911S and I wish it could have been from the US but oh well. I tried to buy an american made one at the local gunshow but all my fellow americans were in the gouging mode so I went for the Girsan.
It's a great looking gun and everything feels quality. I really like the finish compared to the RIA's I've seen. I took it out a few days ago and again today. So far I fired just 25 rouds and I'm impressed with the accuracy and have had no FTF or stove pipes. I have been using the 230GR win value pack rounds and some 230GR PMC hollow points. I won't know for sure until a few hundred more rounds but I'm convinced it was a good deal. I'll be suprised if they don't go up in price with all the good reviews and it's great looks and production standards.
Oh yeah, the only scare I had was that the finish turned kinda milky at the muzzle right after 2 clips. I let it cool off, added a bit of oil and now it's gone I wonder if that is just common with this type of finish?

What finish do you have cuz mine does the same thing, i think it may be just the ammo or it could just be completely normal, i have the Hard chrome finish.

It's the parkerized looking type. I hope it isn't all flaked off in the morning. So far just the oil fixed it up. I'm used to stainless and blued firearms and maybe it's normal...I hope so

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!
