NEW Girsan MC1911-S fit & finish overview
Well I just scooped it up today and I am EXTREMELY pleased with the appearance, fit, finish, and function. I have not shot it yet, so this is just a pre-range report going over the appearance & visible parts. I'm NOT a 1911 expert but I do know what I'm looking for on a 1911 and this model has it all baby!
For a shipped cost of $450 I just bought myself a lot of gun. A QUALITY gun from the looks of it. Slide to frame finish is very tight, trigger has a little grit but still breaks nicely.....I hope that will get better with time. The barrel seems to be very high quality steel and the high polish really makes it pop against the matte black finish. The gun uses no MIM parts and feels very tight in my hand....its out of the box tight and has no wiggle. CNC machined bar stock slides, steel frames and cold forged barrel.
And let me dedicate a whole paragraph to the finish of this gun....its VERY, VERY nice. Not a dull matte like the Armscor/RIA models. This is a nicely parkerized black finish with a slight gloss to it. Not dull at all.....in fact it looks deep blue in certain light as you will see.
anyways, range report to follow but so far Im VERY impressed with this $450 investment! Plus it looks awesome with the Wilson Combat coco grips I installed

I almost bought the MC1911S also. I ended up going with the classic look and got the MC1911. I am impressed with the gun for the amount I paid. The gun shoots great. What a deal for $419.

Thats awesome Eng I'm glad you bought one also. What a steal eh? Have you fired yours yet? If so...Is it as stellar and accurate as all the reviews Ive read?
They could EASILY charge an extra $150 for this gun and I would have paid.
I mean....shhhh.....the low cost is what sealed the deal Mr. Girsan rep!

I'm going to need a range report pronto sir. what we're the original grips? I was considering one, but then heard about the sti Spartan. Do you think it would be worth saving the extra money and getting the girsan?

Saving extra money? No sir it's the other way around....this thing is $419 for the base model and $450 for the sport model which is what I bought! Unless I'm way off, the Spartan is more correct? So this would be a win-win for you!
Again I've yet to shoot it but the gun has received tons of great shooting reviews. I'd have to have a lemon in order to be disappointed. That being said, I'll hold off on absolutes until I run at least 150rds through it

Now git it to the range and get it dirty.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

That's just... I don't know what to say about that. Your supposed to give up something like red meat, fast food... Leavened bread. White undershirts. Watching baseball or Nascar.
Giving up shooting... That would be like giving up... Breathing...
 I'm kidding.
