To "sporterize" any weapon like the original 1911 should be a serious crime!!

So....adding target sights...better grips ...reducing trigger pull...is bad?

YES!!!

Now doing that to a modern day 1911 or the like is totally fine, but taking away from an original 1911 but upgrading it like that is not right. IMHO that is.

I doubt you will ever have to make that choice- You find a good example of a all original 1911 from say the 40's & pay a fair market price i doubt you'll be addin a bunch of "goodies" to it

GI/Milspec profile 1911 is definitely not what I'm looking for. Thanks for the suggestion though.

If money is not an option, i would suggest the Kimber Warrior/Desert Warrior, Springfield Operator/MC Operator, or the Sig Sauer Tac-Ops/Nightmare. I own the Kimber Warrior and after 1100 rounds jave yet to have an issue. But top 3 companies as far as machined pistols has to be Sig, Kimber, and Springfield.
