I thought a thread a while back said that Colt didn't make conversion kits, but if they do, that's definitely a solid option. And if it's his first handgun, he probably isn't equipped to reload yet.

You can put a Kimber conversion kit on a Colt.

The Colt might not like it but it will work.

As I've always been a sucker for blued guns, here's my Commander - out the door for $700 so you have $$$ for mags and ammo...
