I have a American classic that I paid less than $500 for. I have shot 450 rounds through it without any issues. I am pleased with the performance.

Congratulations good choice, I'm sure that you'll love the PT1911, I've had a stainless one since 2008, and have put over 18K round through it with maybe less then 1% of failures that I can attributed to weak mag springs, bad reloads, or extractor clocking, mine came with the infamous defective thumb safeties that tended to come lose, and Taurus send me a replacement with in 5 day, I have sent Taurus my two original magazines when ever they get weak and they replaced them no questions asked, though some say they have had bad costumer service in the past, I truly believe that it must have been in the distant past because I've always been accommodated by them, enjoy.
