Default Need A little advice on 22 conversion kits

Does anyone know or had any experience using a 22 conversion kit on a 1911 frame? Will they work on a Sig 1911 Model 19GS0015, 4.2 in barrell??

Thanks,

Pops

best way to find out is to contact the manufacturer of the kit. i have the kimber 22 conversion and after 500 rounds it now fails to extract even on cci minimag. it may be extractor failure i dunno. my solution was to order a gsg 1911-22. it has not arrived yet due to all the storms.

Pop, check here:

SIG Store

Before I'd buy a $400 Sig kit I'd get me a $300 GSG 1911-22 dedicated 22lr gun.

I got one and love it.

And it comes with a can ready, threaded barrel.

Thanks to JonM and Cane:

Looks like both of you are reading from the same sheet of music. I had seen the GSG in passing looking through Handgunner or another magazine and never paid much attention, guess I thought it was 45, never thought about 22lr. Make sense to get the GSG especially if your going to spend more on the kit. The kit at the sig store is not for their 1911 models.

Thanks again.

Pops, I have a Marvel Precision conversion kit. It has a LOT of rds through it and has been reliable and accurate. BUT it shoots about 8" high at 21' and Marvel already sent me the highest front sight they make.

And the cost was more than you could get the GSG for.

I have a Colt ACE 22lr and absolutly love it. It shoots straight and is a great practice gun for .45's. As soon as I found out what its worth I have taken better care of it.

Thanks for your reply guys, I think I am getting more convinced to invest in the GSG and I get to increase my collection
