Default Need Help with Hungarian R9 bending springs

I have an 80's vintage like new gun that when fired for the first time the recoil spring bent. Replaced both the spring rod and the spring with new and the same results. Took to gunsmith kept it for 5 months and he was stumped. This is an FEG r9 Interarms. The spring rod is shorter than a 1911 and this model is similar but not a match for a BHP. No interchangeable parts. I saw someone had the same problem same gun on another forum but he never posted any fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
