within the budget you have set, there are some choices and some good ones. now they aren't going to be a tricked out Dan Wesson, or the fine old Colts.
need to check out MetroArms American Classic's and the RIA lines of 1911's. many different finishes, materials, calibers and sizes. they are made in the Phillipine Islands and are some of the best value for a good, reliable and decently accurate 1911.
i have currently an American Classic Commander in 45 acp. it's the second AC i have owned and can attest to their quality and accuracy. also very reliable.
you owe it to yourself to check thes out.
