Wow!! Beadblast looks just fantastic, I love the finish. I have a question regarding bb... Does the bb take all the writing, etc. from the firearm, and if so would this have any effect as far as ownership, ie serial number, etc? Did you do the grips yourself, they look awesome.
Congrats on a job well done!!

To answer your question, NO the bead blasting does not have any removal or altering factor to anything engraved in the metal. I had the Taurus billboards milled off the sides of the slide, but the serial numbers are still in tact. The beads are too fine to remove enough metal to erase anything engraved in the metal. It has no effect on ownership.
Yes, I make the grips myself. I appreciate the compliment. They are just the current flavor of the week. I'm sure I'll have a different set on the gun before too long.

Nice job,,,,, that proves that you CAN, in fact, make a silk purse out of a sow's ear....lol
Btw, that last photo, of the back end shows that no matter what you do ot it, it's still what it is: seeing daylight between mating parts and a round tab(slide) into a square groove( frame) is, well,,,,,,

Wow! I was under the impression that this gun was just as good as a Baer or Brown! I'm forever grateful to you for keeping me grounded in reality by pointing out all the flaws in my gun and comparing it to a sow's ear. Will you be my friend?

Big O, you have much more restraint than I, FWIW see post #13.
After a year, it still rings true!

Thanks Cane. I appreciate that.
I have no idea why we've had a recent rash of a$$hats lately. The world is full of idiots and I just don't the energy to engage with each one. Many more posts like that and I speculate he won't be hanging around too long away.

I really like the second bead blast job. I might do the same to mine, just so I don't feel like I've gotta keep it hidden under my pillow. I wonder where you got such quality wood for those grips, they're outstanding!

Olympus, it looked good to me the first time when you did it last year. but i will say the newer look is even more impressive. very nice lloking indeed, and very good job, again!
you're right there does seem to be a new current crop of haters and detractors flooding the forum here lately. might i suggest that they learn some manners and curb their remarks before their stay here is a short one!
nice save Cane! you have my respect for your remarks!
