Doesn't look quite like a 1911 to me, but more like a Spanish Llama, if I'm correct, I don't know how much customizing you'll be able to do, with a very limited after market parts available, if any.

shoot safe, shoot straight, and have fun

It is a llama. Is that bad? I mostly just plan on doing cosmetic work. Cerkote the frame OD green and the slide black. Probably keep trading up

the Llama was built similar to the 1911 Colts, but parts will not interchange. some people like them, some don't. i have shot a few in the past and they are alright, but nothing great IMO. as said before by another member, not a lot of parts and accessories for them.

I wouldn't invest any money on it, if my plan was to trade up in the future (diminished return), unless I was planning to keep it, then I would invest and customize it just the way I want it.

shoot safe, shoot straight, and have fun

It's a good one to cut your teeth on.

If DIY gunsmithing is your intention, you can do sights, throat the barrel, polish the internals, trigger job, lower & flare the ejection port, all kinds of stuff.

Awesome! Yeah I'm just breaking into the handgun world all together. I've shot them several times in the military and growing up redneck but just starting buying them this month. I'll probably try to trade it for a plinker or two.
