As for the slide every Caspian slide i've ever seen is marked with their logo-
Only slide i can recall messing with with no markings at all was Essex---
Looks like someone did a good build

Yes, I see that it has evolved into a "everyone else's but my 1911" thread.

Foster is the parent company for Caspian and they will sell blemished frames and slides that do not have the Caaspin markings, and the slides will be unmarked. Usually just cosmetic blems and can be a good value for the money, when they are available. Seen a few builds with Foster frames and slides, that will really stack rounds.

The trick is catching what you want, in stock. since they are blems, you never know what they will have in stock that is blemished.

I'm gonna shoot it tomorrow for the first time. I'll post a range report.

Also, I apologize if I high jacked the thread. I couldn't figure out how to start a new one on the phone.

Default Caspian Arms Range Report

Well, I was a little disappointed:
- accuracy: multiple brands, 120 rds. shot, 230 gr. FMJ; fair- 15yds offhand about 4". Could be due to poor lighting at indoor range, black on black target sights, and 70 yr. old eyes with implants.
- numerous FTFeed's especially with the first round in the mag. (Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick and Kimber mags. No probs with my other 1911's). Round would jam at an angle and not enter the chamber.
- numerous failures to go into battery.
- several failures to slide-lock on empty.
- trigger gritty, with no over-travel adj., and slightly excessive take-up.
- no peening on rails or lugs.
I'm going to do another range session using one brand of ammo for consistancy (probably WWB or UMC) and note which mags have the FTF's. Also I'll put some white paint on the front sight.

Other pointers would be appreciated.

I do see a trip to my 'smith in Franklinton.
