From the picture I see, unless it just doesn't function, I'd leave it alone. Maybe some of the colt guys can confirm this, but I think if it still looks good, you are actually destroying the value by having it restored.
Something to consider...I keep granddads gun the way he had it...all the places with blueing rubbed off are that way because HE rubbed it off over the years by using it. That's what really makes it special to me.
