Mil-Tac g10 grip style question

Looking to add a magwell and new set of grips for my Kimber for competition.
Going to go with a Techwell SP magwell (thanks to VR4 for pointing me in that direction) and my question is on the grips available for the well.
Anyone use Mil-Tac g-10's? Looking for something aggressive. Wondering how "grippy" they are?
I'm trying to decide between the diamond pattern

and the diagonal pattern

The other grip option is alumagrips

Really like the look of the G10 diagonal's followed closely by the diamond's, just wondering if anyone has any experience with any of them and can let me know how aggressive (no-slip) the grip is?

Thanks

Gate, I had checkered Alumagrips on one of mine for a time and they provide a solid, no-slip grip. About the "grippiest" I have are on this one (bought them off eBay) with a Pearce rubber finger groove under them...

I have a set of Mil-Tac's first 1911 grips and they work quite well.

The diagonal pattern is definitely my choice of the ones you have indicated. I think that styling works the best for my hands and really locks the pistol in place when shooting.

You can contact Craig from Mil-Tac directly, he is a Vendor here, and I am sure he has several models that aren't out yet ( he is always trying something new ). He might have something just perfect for you, and if he doesn't, I know he is willing to take feedback and try to help you out.

Good luck!

Thanks for reminding me, I sent Craig a PM asking what he'd recommend and had available inlet for the techwell in the secret laboratory :D

Your best bet is to e-mail him directly. craig.sword@mil-tac.com

Craig is a busy guy and doesn't log in here much unless one of us e-mails him to let him know we are doing some testing or something. Mention that you are a Supporting Member here though because we get a discount on most stuff.

Mil-Tac didn't get back to me, so I decided to order the Black Techwell SP with the Grey/Black G10 Diagonal grips directly from TechWear's website. Just got them this afternoon. I thought I'd share my first impressions.

The grips have got a great feel, very positive grip. One review I saw, a guy said that if your hand slips on the grips, you probably just lost some skin
They're not that sharp, but I don't think I'll have any problems with a secure grip.
While doing some dry fire practice tonight, the magwell is definetely helping guide the magazine smoothly into the gun. As a bonus, it seems like it is really helping me index my grip on the pistol better (and faster) on the draw.
Time on reloads should definitely be better and my draw times may go down as well.
The grips and magwell as received fit together perfect, very tight with no wiggle or gaps. I didn't have to do any minor fitting as TechWear stated might be necessary.
The inside of the well blends great into the kimbers magazine channel, no edges or steps. We'll see how I do with it at sunday's match.

I was gonna see if Mil-tac could inlet a set of their "French Walnut" colored diagonal grips for the techwell, thought the contrast to the frame would look nice, maybe not though. Oh well
