want to buy some mags for my new 1911 wich are better for this one i got ? guy i trade it from gave me two extra mags he said they are sig sauer mags

personally i use a lot of Wilson Combat mags or Chip McCormack. have had really good luck with both. also check out the Tripp Research mags. Canebrake swears by them and his advice on 1911's is pretty close to gospel! word is he's a lost grandson of John M. Browning!

My AC Gov't model takes $6 GI mags (for use at the gun range) as well as some name brands: Kimber, Chip McCormack, MecGar and Wilson Combat. So far (+/- 1K rounds) I have not had any problems with any of them.

I have no plan to use the the GI mags for personal defense...that is a different issue.
