i am on my second one, an AC Commander in hard chrome finish. paid about $600 for it. very please with it's fit and finish and the accuracy is awesome. the American Classic and the RIA 1911's are some of the best values in a 1911 on the current market.

i love mine. the first was an AC II Government model. very pleased with it as well.

they bear checking out if a person is in the market for an inexpensive 1911 to start with. they are also a good place to start in building a custom 1911.

looks what mine useto before i modified it. i am pretty sure it's not nickel, could be, but MetroArms calls it hard chrome.

Its a hard chrome finish. And when you buy a metro arms american classic, you've pretty much bought a colt. They bought colts old factory in the phillipines and use colts old machinery. Great quality for less cash. I owned one and never had a problem. Nice tight fit, and very reliable.

IMO, yes it would be a good trade. nothing against the Glock, the Glock is just a Glock, but a 1911, is just something i would rather have than the Glock.

last article i read a couple of years ago on the MetroArms factory was that all of their machinery was brand new and state of the art. lots of CNC milling machines.

way to go! welcome to the ranks of the ranks of 1911 enthuiasts!:D

seriously, i doubt that you won't like it once you spend some time shooting it.

BTW, go ahead and start saving for your next 1911, because they are like potato chips. once you eat one, it's just not enough!:D
