You guys realize some day the new 1911's will probably be worth more than the WWII version due to improvements and the probably length/body count of this war. I personally like it and want one.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

ditto.
And really, I didn't have much bad luck with my m9. I still would have preferred something better, or at least ammo I couldn't actually SEE flying down range like a red rider BB gun...
I've corrected for trajectory on pistol ranges...

I think you will find that the Beretta M9A1 is made in the USA.

Yep....then I had a damn lance corporal tell me that the bullet bounce back to us off the nail in the target. I laughed at him and told him if that was so the bullet would be flattened out somewhat. Then I told him to wonder off and clean the trash cans.....he didn't like it until he realized I out ranked him

I've actually seen my bullet fly down range in a parabolic arc, pop paper, and hit the dirt on the other side. My only thought was, "dear God, I hope it never comes to this"
Every time it came to my pistol, I'd add an additional 200 round box of linked 5.56 to my patrol pack before next time leaving the wire, and eventually was packing over 2K rounds. Lo and behold, once I was carrying over 50 pounds of ammo, I never fired another round in anger. Talk about luck. Before that, I would leave with so much weight, and come back light as a feather...
