Magnum Research 1911 DE

After searching and searching to buy my first 1911, I found the one that suited my price Range and specifications. I'm happy to say I purchased a Desert Eagle G 1911 by Magnum Research. Really nice Handgun and very happy with my purchase. It was about $847.00 after everything. Anyone have any issues or complaints about Magnum Research? I reviewed them and seen good feedback...

not bad looking at all! actually looks pretty nice. i knew that DE made a 1911, but in all honesty, i haven't heard any thing bad or good, nor do i really know much about them as far as their 1911's. the company as a whole seems to have a pretty solid reputaion.

clean it and oil it, then shoot the snot out of it and see how it handles. congrats and good luck.

Magnum research is now owned by Kahr, which makes Auto Ordnance. I'd venture a guess that these are rebadged A.O. 1911's with a few changes.

The reason I went with this 1911 is it had good reviews and it was In my price range. Honestly it was a higher quality than any of the other 1911's I handled. I wanted to hold out for the Colt which would have ran me just over a grand and I did contemplate a Sig but just was not happy with its action or the way it looked. I still wanted the traditional GI look even though I know I could have changed that after I bought it. It seemed like a good fit. Hopefully it's not a bummer. I know even the lower end 1911's will shoot. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it guys.

It looks good! How does it shoot?

Research on your part is the correct way to go. But if I may offer a suggestion?
Ask the question of " Anyone have any issues or complaints about Magnum Research? I reviewed them and seen good feedback... " before you purchase next time.

This may give you some insight before you lay down your hard earned money.

Yes it is. Iraqi Veteran. Thank you. I appreciate your help. I wanted a 1911 that would work on behalf of longevity and looks good to. Reviews have been good from what I've read. Of course their are many more quality 1911's out there rather than the MR. I thought it was a good fit. Thanks again for all your help

You did well on the gun. Seems a little high in price as they are around $700 here. The trigger is really nice on mine and a buddies. Never had a problem with either one. Shoots to point of aim and they have excellent reviews. They are made in Israel.

They are NOT rebadged 1911's with a few changes. For the money one of the best buys on the market. Better gun than my Ruger and I love the Ruger. The main complaint is the HUGE roll marks and then to a lesser degree the two tone parts. You paid about $75-100 more than this area but enjoy the gun. They are real shooters.

The 1st two years they didn't have the FCS either another complaint but as you can see the complaints are looks. Function no complaints.

I seen the Israel thing but this model was made in Minnesota. It said some are made in Israel. I wanted the Colt 80 series But the particular piece I want is a Vietnam issued Pistol. I will just wait for a gun show for that. I wanted a 1911 that is reliable, shoots well and looks some what rustic with a touch of modern intervention. I believe I have found it. Thanks again and keep the II AMENDMENT close to your heart!
