You had a new ambi thumb safety installed, right?

The safety is the hinge pin and the ambi is two piece. Does the safety still work? Does it feel loose?

The sear spring also contacts the grip safety. Can you still feel the spring when you engage the grip safety?

You could try putting a sleeve inside the "tunnel" for the thumbsafety pin. Mine is a little loose but only a hair.

You can tighten it up by ever so slightly bending you mainspring for your grip safety.

Signing out, Alpha1victor.

That would actually be the sear spring.
OP, are you talking in and out or side to side movement?

You may have to swap out the grip safety.

Sir, this is a simple fix but a common problem. I had some work done on one of my 1911 guns earlier this year. When I got it back, it rattled with each step I took.

There is a flat tension spring behind the grip safety. All one has to do is place enough bend on that spring to stop the play. Takes about five minutes or less.
