Long Term Storage of Magazines

If a person wants to bury magazines for long term storage will 90-140 grade oil break down and destroy the polymer parts of the magazines, the base pads and the followers? Any other suggestions appreciated. Cosmoline is hard to find. Thank you in advance.

90-140 oil, is pretty heavy gear oil, all you need for long term storage is a light coating of oil and an air tight/moisture free environment. I wouldn't be using mags with plastic basepads and followers for this type of storage, find some all steel mags if you're going to soak them in oil.
