Default Llama disassembly

I am trying to do a total disassembly of a Llama 1911. The safety lever should just be worked straight out of the weapon. Mine feels as if something is holding the part in. I've tried twisting and pulling and tapping with a punch. What is the trick to removing the safety lever.

If it is like a true 1911, the hammer has to be cocked.

Then as pressure is used to pull, there is a "sweet" spot between safety full on and full off. You have to move the lever up and down while pulling out.

I will give that a try. Thanks for the advice. It does feel like something is holding it in place and won't let go.
