Thanks. I'm dying to take it to the range to try her out since I haven't had the chance to shoot her since putting the grips on it. Just haven't had the cash. Hoping to make it to the range in a a week or two.

A question for you 1911 guys. How is the Para USA 1911 Gi model? How is Para as a company? Any info from you guys would be great, since you guys know all about 1911s. I saw one at Gander Mountain for $599.

In my experience, Gander mountain is nearly always off the mark on their prices, you can get a Para GI Expert for less than that.

Also look at Rock Island Armory, High Standard, ATI and Springfield Armory.

The High Standard is priced good and excepts ALL upgrades with little to NO fitting. The only part on mine that had to be slightly fitted was the beavertail, everything else dropped right in. Its a damn solid 1911

Here is my baby . 70's Series Combat Commander. Love the gun, hate the sights. Can't replace them with out devaluing the gun.

Such a shame, my Taurus has combat sights on it I'll trade you.

Lol,

That's very nice of you to offer. I was going to buy another 70 series slide if I can find one, and put sights on it. Sights wash out in bright lights or sun.

If you enjoy shooting the gun, change the sights and just keep the originals to put back on it if you ever need to. If you never plan on selling the gun, it's no issue. Enjoy that baby!!
