Mine wasn't. But Colt is sending me a new guide rod assembly to replace it.

It's great Colt got back to you so fast. Those of us who have been around awhile know that Colt over the years CS can be spotty at best.

continued.....

Springfield EMP

Kimber Utlra Carry II - I bought it with the laser grips, but can't stand 'em
I think that's it, but I may have forgotten one or two. Either way I'm sure more 1911's will follow. I'm looking for either a Dan Wesson CCO or will have one built by Bob over at Fusion.

Sarge,

How do you like the EMP. Been thinking about one of them, but haven't ran across anyone locally that has one.

CCR203 - I don't have a lot of rounds through her (I won't carry a 9, just personal choice), but what I have sent down range was fun! Tight little bugger and more accurate than a 3" barrel should be. From all I've seen with it, it's a very well made pistol. Recoil is very mild, even for a 9mm, which surprised me in the short barrel and small package. Very nice to shoot. I'm not sorry at all that I picked her up.

I knew I'd forgotten at least one 1911. I also have a Taurus PT1911. Here she is.

Here we go turning this into a "Hey Sarge whaddaya think of..?" threads but hey I'll risk it. As an owner of plenty of .45's from all the "major" manufacturers and some impressive custom houses, what's your opinion of the Taurus .45?

I was looking at one at the same time as I bought my Colt Commander, and went that way with my money due primarily to the Colt name and the desire for a shorter barrel, but the amount of goodies you get with the Taurus was very enticing. Having shot and sold numerous Taurus pistols when I worked at a gun shop, I liked most everything Taurus made but never shot their .45. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Josh

Thanks Sarge for the info. I will have to look closer at the EMP and put it on the short list.

Thanks again.
