Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

The better question is " which ones do you not own?"

I talked a customer out of selling on around 1994.

He had been the OOD on his ship when VJ-Day was announced. He was told to turn in his gear and catch the next shuttle off the ship, but when he tried to turn in his pistol belt, there was nobody there to sign it in. So he rolled it up, tucked it into his seabag and left the ship.

At the time a Singer was worth about $5,000. I showed him the blue book value and he was shocked. He figured it was worth $300-$500 and was very appreciative when I showed him the true value.

A Singer recently sold at auction for $165,000.

Many years ago I was looking at upgrading my four digit commercial 1911. Unnggg. Well, the wife says you can only have one, right? So I go to this twenty something's house to look at his .45s and he has a full size safe in his basement with over a dozen 1911's in it. He said he only wanted the safe but he had to take the guns with it. He had already sold a bunch. Most were in pretty worn condition, but I picked up a mint GI for $250. But in that safe were all kinds of brands I hadn't ever heard of before. I remember there was a Union Switch and Signal, Remington Rand and a Singer in there. Something with some red in the grips.. Of course, I didn't want to buy a well used "off" brand, so I went with the Colt. He said the neighborhood bikers were loving them and buying them up off him daily. mannn.......
