Got her nice and hot, and kinda dirty the other day. 150 rounds through without a hitch.

Sir that is starting bids, take notice that few of those listed have received any bids. most have a very high reserve that must be met and is much higher than the starting bid that is set by the seller. I sell guns on Gun Broker but buy very few online. Why? FFL transfer fees, high shipping costs and the possibility of the seller misrepresenting the guns condition etc.

Obviously, peoples' opinions are going to be different. I was considering getting a Kimber at 1 point, however, word of mouth online started to give me cause for concern. Likewise, a local shop refused to carry them, and a friend of mine dropped his Kimber and it went off(with the thumb safety engaged, through the firing pin block and without depressing the grip safety mind you). I may be putting too much faith in someone elses' opinion, but it was enough to make me not plunk down the money for one.

Default IMO - Absolutely

My beloved Navy issued me a 1911 in 1971 as I set up for missions on Dixie Station. Then they took it back for an old Police Chief .38.

I've owned 2 - Colt Model 80's and an AMT Long Slide. Both models are damn fine .45acp ventilators.

I'm now two months into a Kimber Super Carry Ultra as my everyday carry piece and have put 1,000+ rounds down range.

It's just the absolute best handgun I've ever owned. And I've owned a bunch. But that's just me...

I have several Kimber pistols and have shot them extensively. Most have been reliable, some have not. Surprisingly enough, my most reliable one is also the cheapest one. A Pro Carry II. I would not be afraid to buy one, however the first thing I would do is ditch the factory mags for some Wilson Combat mags, this will greatly improve reliability.
