I've had and fired a number of Kimbers. They are fine weapons and if you do your part so will they.

Whinchesters cleaning kit has everything u need there $15, get some remoil or carb cleaner

i owned a second hand kimber, it was a very good fire arm. worth every penny, but i traded it in on a sig suaur 1911, i fell in love with the sig, i did not regret that exchange one bit.

I have , kimber, colts, and springfields, and a parra ordnance in 45cal, all shoot excellent. As far as a favorite I can't say. You couldn't go wrong with any of them. Sure there are other good ones out there too.

Kimber's Custom II for 800.000 is simply hands down the best 1911 you can buy. Match grade barrel and bushing. A trigger any 1911 would love to have.

It does need a few things. A metal MSH would be all it needs to make it just right!
