Default kimber vs les baer

I'm thinking about getting another 1911, which do you recommend:

a) les baer (premier II or ????)
b) kimber super match II

advices from existing users would be most appreciated.

Les baer hands down.

I would personally take a hi-point before a kimber but thats just my opinion

Kimber's are mid range 1911's. Mine have been good to me, but the kimpro finish wears pretty easy.

Les Baer's are high end 1911's on par with Ed Brown's, Wilson Combat's, etc....

How much do you want to spend!?

Les Baer without question. My TRS was about $1,900. What prices are you finding for the Kimber? I bet about the same.

Prices being equal, you should go with the Baer.

If money is no object, go with the Les Baer 1911.

Damn fine shooters, tight tolerances and they hold their resale value.

Les baer hands down, over 20 hours of hand fitting per gun, guaranteed to shoot 3 inches at 50 yards, and for another $300 he'll guarantee 1 1/2 inches at 50 yards, and send you the target to prove it!

Les Baer 1911s are in a completely different class than Kimber. A higher class. Nothing wrong with Kimber, but Baers are much better quality.

I love Kimbers and own a few but they are a top of the line production gun. Les Baer like Wilson Combat and others is a hand made gun. Much tighter tolerances and tested accuracy and function before it leaves the shop. If it does not meet stringent standards back to the bench it goes until it does. Not the same class.

I'm looking to spend USD 1,800-2,700.

I currently own a Colt Special Combat Government and would like another fine "black" pistol. I'm not a serious competitor and don't need to carry my gun. Looking at Les Baer catalog, these are what I like but I can't tell the different between them. Any advices?

1. Baer 1911 Ultimate Master Combat Pistol, 5" Model, .45 ACP
2. Baer 1911 Premier II, 5" Model, .45 ACP
3. Baer 1911 Premier II Super-Tac, .45 ACP
4. Baer 1911 Concept I, .45 ACP
5. Ed Brown's Classic Custom, .45 ACP

Also, should I get a BoMar or combat sights?
