That sucks man! I don't know why it's so hard for some people to keep their word or drop you a message/quick phone call to let you know something has changed.

Thanks guys, still haven't heard from the guy. I'm heading to a local gun show Saturday, with money in pocket and expect to find something to ease the sting.

Well I spent four hours at the gun show and found some 1911's. Most were either well worn or entry level pistol. All were over priced ($750 was the low price that was a used RIA) not a single Kimber at the show. I was planning on spending no more than $900. What I learned is few high end 1911's show up at the local gun show and it's going to be rare to find a great deal on one. So money back to the bank until I can afford one that I would enjoy.
Well most of the money, I did pick up a S&W 642 Centennial NIB for $425. It was on my list of needed pistols (or a LCR) for summer carry.
