Kimber is actually one of the better manufacturers in the industry. Ive personally seen colt turn out worse firearms than most... Every company will have a screw up here and there. No matyerbif its kimber, colt, sig, glock, springfield, etc... But to say kimber isnt a real gun is ignorant. Ive had over 1400 rounds throgh mine without a hitch. Ol' boy just got a lemon...

I read your post, and sounds rough man... Not the standard they used to be. Colt hasnt made Colt 1911's since 1981. I refuse to buy any made after that year

Ya, I'll take it out and shoot it some before I do anything, but it is very disappointing for a $1000 gun .

Gads! I just bought a brand new STS Ultra II... Took it to the range, and put close to two hundred Hydra Shoks and Golden Sabre's through it without a hitch. My only complaints are with the takedown tool's hole location, and the crimson trace lazer seems to work when it wants to rather than all the time. I hope that I don't run into any problems like you did!
