What I can say is that my Series 1 is a superb 1911 and is very accurate, and not at all picky on ammo. In addtion, any upgrades i did to it using genuine Kimber provided parts were all true 'drop in' mods with no gunsmithing required - a testiment to the precision of the manufacturing.

The mods I did to mine were simple and easy to do, I added a SS arched MSH with mag well, dual safety, new high visability sights (bad eyes), new grips, and removed the full lenge guide rod in favor of a standard guide rod.
With these simple mods, I made the pistol 'my own' and have enjoyed it with several thousand rounds put down range flawlessly.

I'm sure there are good ones and bad ones in any brand, but I have nothing bad to say about my experience with Kimber.
Nice looking gun...only mods made to mine (CII) are sights and grips...CPC came with everything I wanted.

How are the EAA guns? I've never seen one in person...always kinda thought their commercials were cheesy (like most gun commercials seem to be)...what's the price range on them?

I can't comment on the price, but they are CZ clones. May as well go with a CZ IMO.

Well you know my next question then...what about the CZ? I hear good stuff for the most part, but have never had occasion to shoot one.

I have had a 45 ACP CDP Pro for a few years. I have never used anything but Wilson magazines in it. It has been very dependable and solid -- not picky about ammo. I consider it a very good, dependable pistol. I use it for CCW without hesitation. I also have a Wilson and a Series 80 Colt as a basis for comparison. The Kimber ain't no Wilson but it's more refined and has a better fit and than the Colt.

Wow...that's the first time I've heard anyone put the Kimber specifically over Colt. No doubt others would, but I'm usually fighting an uphill battle with that comparison, consequently it's a fight I seldom initiate.

And yeah it ain't no Wilson, but it's FAR less expensive...I was on their website yesterday, and clicked on one I liked...the $$$ came up and I damned near spit my teeth out (and I don't mean dentures. I still have my real teeth!).
