Yep. My Kimber is history.

I'm gonna wait and save money for a Mil-Spec M1911A1 (without the arched mainspring housing) from Colt.

Housings are cheap and easy to change so don't let that be a roadblock for an otherwise good gun...

I have had my Kimber for about a year now.

It's a Kimber Pro CDP II

I carry it in cool weather and take it to the range to shoot a lot.

I have never seen even a spot of rust on it anywhere, and believe me it's hot here & it gets sweat on it when I'm at the range.

I just wipe iit down with a inexpensive gun cloth that I bought at a gun show. It shines like new after several hundred rounds down range w/o any jams or misfires.

Sorry your having trouble with yours, but I'm not having any trouble with mine.

Are the kimbers with the rust problems all blued?

The pro cdp II's are very nice!

If it doesn't have an arched MSH, it isn't a Mil-Spec M1911A1.

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

I don't think so. I have a blued Kimber Tactical Pro 2 and not one sign of rust since I purchased the firearm. I carry it a good amount of the time and shoot it in all weather conditions. No issue with mine here.

I wonder why these Kimbers are not rusting in the display cases before they can be sold. If the alloy is that prone to rust it seems that it would be showing up at the retailers.
