Anyone have good/bad info dealing with hands on experience or range time with the Kimber Custom Tactical II HD?

I had a Tactical Ultra II for several years before trading it in to get an Ed Brown Special Forces. Although it is a short barreled version, 3 inches instead of 5 inches, and aluminum frame instead of steel, the basic stuff was still all there. I thought the Tactical line was the best line of Kimbers and had the features I wanted. The Ultra II was 100% reliable for me from the first round through the last round I shot through it. I must have put at least 1,500 rounds through that gun and it was still tight and looked almost brand new. The magwell and ambidexterous safety, as well as the blacked out sleeper styling, were all major reasons I bought it. I went to the Ed Brown because I wanted a full sized 1911 and decided to buy up. But I could have easily gone with the HDII and felt entirely well armed.

Find someone that has one and see if you can get a chance to shoot it.

I NEVER take the word of a salesman or current owner as to the quality of a given firearm.

Case-in-point; There are several members here on the FTF that are happy with their glocks??

What's with that?

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Yeah I'm not a polymer kind of guy. Owned a few XD's and XDM 40's and a couple little 380's but only got my Springfield 1911 Champion Operator now. I'm wanting a nice full size 1911 now around the $1200 price range.
