Kimber Custom II
First quality pics of my Kimber Custom II.
I'm surprised I didn't take a picture of it sooner with the Olympus cam before. It seems like it wasn't too long ago when I was reading and researching these forums trying to find out what the best pistol was for me. Was it a 9mm Bretta 92? A CZ-75, XD-9? Glad I decided on a 1911. My budget was tiny. I stretched to make the base model Kimber. $700+Tax+Fees after negotiating with 4 different FFLs. I wanted something classic Something reliable Something with stopping power Something everyone knows how to work on/with Something there are a million different aftermarket parts for Something highly accurate Something that wasn't scaled back for California's magazine size rules 2-days ago I got my first pair of Cocobolo grips and Installed tonight. Never did like the all-black look with the rubber grips. You can tell it's my first as there is a quite noticeable n00b mark. http://www.glovesandclover.com/1911/...ber-grips1.jpg http://www.glovesandclover.com/1911/...ber-grips2.jpg http://www.glovesandclover.com/1911/...oco-grips1.jpg http://www.glovesandclover.com/1911/...oco-grips2.jpg It's the little things in life. Perfect gun? I can list 4-5 small/trivial things I would change about this gun, but I'm sure that's true about most guns out there. |
Congratulations and welcome to 1911 Land. You'll like it here.

I really miss the days when I got truly excited over a new gun. I fondly remember my first outing with a 1911 - I never realized I was such a proficient shooter. Congrats on joining the 1911 club. Lots of nice guns out there but a 1911 is just special...

I'm curious about the "negotiationg with 4 different FFLs"
Could you go more into detail? (nice gun, by the way) |
Same thing I did to my customii
