Question for u kimber guys. I'm wanting to replace my factory safety for a kimber ambi-safety. Is this something I can do myself or do I need a gunsmith? Thanks

Some may drop-in, some may need to be fitted.

And most of time, you won't know until you have the new safety in your hand.

Are you real familiar with the 1911 and the thumb safety?

We have no knowledge of skill level.

The ambi adds to thickness to the firearm.

No experience installing one on mine, just happy it doesn't have one.

They're easy to install. My Raptor came with an ambidextrous safety...which I like being old...I never know when I wake up in the morning which hand feels like holding a pistol at this age so having it on both sides is a good thing for me.

My pro carry currently has an aftermarket wilson competition ambi safety. Im wanting to put a factory ambi on it because I'm not liking the wider levers
