just wondering
Has anybody converted their Series 80 to a Series 70 with the TJ's Frame Filler Shim? The shim replaces the part you see in the picture right of the package

Nope- I've never owned or ever plan on owning a series 80 
Nice looking weapon tho

I have known several people who have done that. No real difference in the trigger to me. The series 80s triggers are as good as any 70 series or can for minimal money make it feel the same. Anybody who says different has no experience with them and listens to the internet BS. The only thing I hate about the 80 series is putting those pieces back in. What a pain.

No advantage and a large liability if you use the gun in a PD action.
Why not just buy the gun you want?

Do tell... so you're saying if I have a PD action that not having my hammer safety is going to be a problem?

What they are saying is you *could* have a problem, as some lawyer could say you had a negligent discharge due to your pistol being unsafe. I have yet to hear of or see a case where this was used, but I certainly don't know everything.

Not the hammer safety, the firing pin safety.
If it is removed you can bet your butt a wrongful death action will be forthcoming (from any competent lawyer) because of your "less-than-safe" modified gun.

Yeah I knew that's where he was going with it, and I guess it "Could" happen but like you I have never heard of this ever happening but I guess I could be carrying one day "Cocked and Unlocked" which I never do and I could drop my 1911 and because I removed the series 80 safety it could go off I'll take my chances, I have always been accused of living on the edge
