After having to wait for 90 days I finally got to pick up my first 1911 today also my first .45 acp. Didnt get nothin sepical just the Para GI expert after a good while of lookin and researching it seem to be a damn good gun 4 the price and figure i didnt want to spend a lot on my first 1. Have not had a chance to get it to the range yet I dont have the same access to a public range i had before the move but after the way all u Hard core 1911 fans speak of the gun I will be expecting my whole outlook on life to change after firing this baby then I 2 will know it all,;) . I do know that with out even shooting it Iam gonna want a better grip safety dont much like the way this 1 digs into the web of my hand when I rack it.

David, Welcome to the Fraternity. Soon you will truly know what a real pistol feels like in your hands.

Congrats on the purchase. I look forward to your first range report and your impressions of the pistol.

David, nice Para!

Get her dirty!

If you are going to change the grip safety, I think you will have a task on your hands.

The Expert is equipped with a spur safety.

Congratulations. Just clean and lube it and take it out and shoot the heck out of it. See how the grip safety feels after several hundred rounds before you decide on any changes.

David, nice choice for an entry level 1911 .45 pistol. I think you will be happy with that Para, and it's out of the box accuracy. :)

Shoot it, shoot it a lot!

Jack

A suzuki boulevard would make for a good target stand
